About required documents and preparation
A doctor's referral is not required to visit a physiotherapist. However, if your sessions are covered by an insurance company, they may require a doctor's referral to cover the costs.
- Previous medical documents related to your complaints (doctor's conclusions, hospital discharge summaries, surgery descriptions)
- Test results, if any have been performed (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, or CT descriptions)
- List of medications currently being taken
- Insurance card, if you plan to use health insurance
- Comfortable sportswear that allows free movement
- Clean sports shoes with non-slip soles
- Water bottle
- Towel and shower gel, if you wish to use the shower
If something specific is needed, the physiotherapist will inform you in advance.
About payments
The initial physiotherapy consultation costs EUR 40, and further visit prices depend on the service. You can find this information in the Pricing section.
Payment for services is possible by bank transfer before or after the session. The patient receives a receipt with their personal details, which can be used for annual income tax returns or submitted to the insurer.
We recommend contacting your insurer before the visit regarding this matter.
Yes, after each session you will receive a receipt or invoice with your personal details. This document can be submitted with your annual income tax return to receive a tax refund.
About the treatment process
This depends on the physiotherapist's hypothesis and the rehabilitation plan, as well as the patient's wishes and capabilities.
Usually at the beginning (first month) visits are more frequent (1-2 times per week), but later, when the patient feels more confident and the first progress is noticeable, visits may become less frequent (once every 1-2 weeks), between which the patient performs home exercises on their own at home or at the gym.
Yes, the physiotherapist creates a homework program with exercises tailored to your capabilities and health condition. The homework is not too complicated or time-consuming - the goal is for the exercises to be realistically achievable. Often it is the regularly performed homework that delivers the greatest part of the results.
Every body reacts differently, but first improvements can often be felt after just one session, and in most cases - within the first two weeks.
Physiotherapy cannot always fully replace surgery or medication, but in many cases it helps avoid invasive procedures or reduce the need for medication. However, there are situations where surgery is necessary - in such cases, physiotherapy serves as complementary therapy.
