Kinesio taping

Kinesiology taping is a physiotherapy method in which special elastic tapes (kinesio tapes) are applied to the skin to support muscles, joints, and soft tissues without restricting movement.

How it works:

  • The tape gently lifts the skin, improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage (reducing swelling and inflammation)
  • Provides a proprioceptive signal (the body becomes more aware of the targeted area), which helps improve movement quality
  • Can assist in stabilizing joints or muscle groups without rigid fixation

When it is used:

  • Sports injuries (sprains, bruises, knee or ankle instability)
  • Back and joint pain
  • To reduce swelling and lymphatic drainage problems
  • Muscle tension or postural issues
  • Post-surgery rehabilitation
  • During pregnancy

Kinesiology tapes come in different colors, but the color is purely aesthetic and does not affect their function.
